# Introduction

## Installation

To install the library, just run the following line of code. The library will be installed, as well as the different associated packages. The latest stable public version is 1.8.

```
pip install colour-segmentation==1.9
```

We stress to the reader that the library is designed to work with OpenCV, and therefore the arguments of the functions are structured following its notation.

## Autorship

The library has been developed under the lines of research of the [SCOPIA](https://scopia.uib.es/) research group, in the [University of the Balearic Islands](https://www.uib.eu/).

The person in charge of maintaining the library is Marc Munar, Assistant Lecturer at the UIB. For more information, visit his [curriculum ](https://www.uib.eu/personal/ABjMxNDU1Nw/)or contact him at <marc.munar@uib.es>.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://mmunar97.gitbook.io/colour-segmentation/master.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
